Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better called Ari Lennox, is an American singer and musician who hails from Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to be signed to J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. On the 21st of October, 2016 she debuted Pho, her first EP for the Dreamville Records label. It was at this point that she began to gain recognition. Her debut studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7 2019. Ari Lennox has been uploading her music since 2012 following the debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. In 2014, Ari Lennox dropped her single Bound and her mixtape, which she released herself, Five Finger Discount. The song Sweat it part of Omen's Elephant Eyes album which dropped on July 21 2015. J. Cole was interested in her talents and was keen to collaborate together with Rihanna. In December 2008, the news was made public that Rihanna had signed to Dreamville Records. Backseat is one of the songs she recorded with Cozz on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II. In October 21st, 2016 the debut EP of Ari Lennox was released, titled Pho. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change as well as performing as part of her own 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as an opening act. In 2018, she was able to guest feature on two tracks with her labelmates EarthGang in Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. The 16th of July, 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream of her album debut Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video, which was released on the 5th of September. The 9th of November saw her release two singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. Then, in November 2013, she dropped No One, and Pedigree. The singer appeared alongside Cole on the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby, on November 16, and then she released the song as a single by herself on her first album. This track, which was launched with a music video on YouTube February 20, 2019 was watched more than 3 million times in the first seven days. In December of 2018, she was an opening act for From East Atlanta With Love Tour. From East Atlanta With Love Tour in conjunction with 6LACK.
